Pets

Sassy- A fluffy calico cat that she was given as a kitten. Spoiled rotten and allowed to do as she pleases

PERSONALITY:

Overall: Hyper active, bubbly and all around just fun loving, and it takes a lot to really make her mad.  She is the type who doesn’t give a damn what others think of her playful side and will do as she pleases so long as it tickles her fancy. Another thing that stands out about her is how she will go out of her way to help someone even if others tell her she shouldn’t. It was just the way she was raised. Holly is the type to give the shirt off her back to those in need. But she also has a very bad stubborn streak. If she thinks she is in the right she will not back down or give in; even when proven otherwise she may drop it but still secretly things she was right.

Likes: Horses, reading at night, writing, four-wheeling, music, hunting, being outside working, hanging with her best friend, and a various lot of other things, sour and gummy candies, b-rated horror movies

Dislikes: The cold, blood, heights, bossy people, being trapped inside, bland food, snakes

 Fears:
Has a severe case of homophobia, or, a fear of blood. This is because of the car accident she was in when she was little. She lost her grandfather in this wreck and was almost coated in both her own blood as well as his. It traumatized her and then this phobia was made worse when she was older. One night she went to visit her best friend/practically sister and found her beaten half to death. Because she was so bloody, Holly couldn’t get close to her, even knowing it needed to be done. Although her friend lived and has told her countless times it was okay, both accidents combined have caused this phobia to become her worse. Small amounts of blood make her feel nauseous and dizzy while large amounts cause her to have panic attacks so sever she passes out.

Another phobia she developed because of her car accident was trypanophobia, a fear of needles. After being in the hospital for a week and being always poked and prodded on she grew to dread them. Symptoms are dizziness, nauseous, shaking, and will struggle to do all she can to get away from them.

Hobbies: When not doing ranch work or hanging out with Devon, Holly loves to write. Ever since she learned the alphabet and learned to write she has been in all her spare time. Having one book published, she strives to get her second one off the ground. But her main passion is working with horses; whether it be training them or just doing ranch work.

Dreams: To become a famous ranch owner where more people will bring her their horses to teach, as well as becoming a famous author. She also wants a family of her own to give the family ranch to that was passed to her from her Grams and Gramps.

Fun facts:

overzealous: (adj. marked by excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea) Holly has the bad habit of being either obsessed and fully in love with something, or the complete opposite and not even caring if it doesn’t interest her.

amatory: (adj. Of, relating to or expressive of love, especially sexual love) She is only like this with her lover, and is in absolutely no way a slut.  Gets very creative as well with it.

Loves music, and will listen to it all day no matter what she is doing if she can.

Flaws:
Holly is very very headstrong about almost everything she sets her mind to. This has caused many fights with all of those around her, however they have learned to adjust. This is just the way she is and they know that after a while when she cools down and sees she will apologize for acting how she did.

Another problem she has is how childish she can be. Due to her not giving a damn what others really think of her, Holly will do anything that catches her attention or seems  fun to her. From playing in kiddy pools to joking around a lot, it is hard to get her to be really serious about things. But she does know when to finally settle down and be an adult.

Backstory

Born to Karen McLean, Holly was given at six months of age to her grandparents. Her mother knew at sixteen she would be too young to raise a child and didn't want to give up anything in her life for it. Once Holly was given up, she vanished and wasn't heard from again.

Growing up, Holly was well loved and taken care of. Never one to sit around and be bored, she was always on the move helping on the ranch and in the garden. It helped her keep close to her grandparents and also kept her occupied. When not in the barn, she was in her room writing and making up stories.

But due to this rather reclusive behavior, it was hard for Holly to make friends. Everyone thought her strange and odd because she didn't think like they did. Instead of trying to wear what was in style, or participate in things at recess she kept to herself with her notebooks and paperbacks. It wasn't until the fifth grade, when a bully started picking on her, did she finally make a real friend. Devon had been the new girl in class, and one that clearly didn't care what others thought of her. When she saw Holly being picked on, she simply did what she did best; picked a fist fight. Beating the bully at his own game and shrugging off the thanks of the quiet little blonde, it took a lot for Holly to get her to open up.

She began following Devon everywhere, quiet at first and then asking more and more questions and trying to get her to talk. No matter how many times Devon tried, she couldn't run her new shadow off. Giving in, the two started talking. That sealed the deal and the two became thick as thieves. But at first Holly didn't let Devon drag her down the path of trouble, instead she kept to the straight and narrow like she thought she should to make sure her guardians were happy. It would take years of pestering and pleading before at sixteen did she finally show her real wild side.

In the years prior to that, a very bad accident happened. She and her grandfather were on their way back from town when a drunk driver hit them. Holly survived though badly wounded both mentally and physically, her grandfather didn't. It took almost a year for her to completely recover, but not without her two phobias.

It took quite a while for her Grandma to get her out of her withdrawal, as well as a lot of work from Devon as well. Between the two and occasional help from Daryl, Holly managed to get back on track with school and the ranch. Giving it her all she began to work hard to pick up where he left off and help her Grandma keep it running. Through it all, she buckled down and finally managed to get her first novel published at only nineteen years of age. With those funds she helps repair and rebuild quite a bit of the ranch and help advertise it.
